Building the HHC World

Melanie Slate’s House

One of my big wishes about the books, movies, and television programs I enjoy is a way to immerse into the fictional world of the stories, in my actual reality. While some do it well, most of my favorites have missed the train into “World Building Land.” One of my goals, albeit a very time consuming one, is building the world of the Hollywood High Chronicles.

Our characters and locations in the series are very three dimensional. I aim for readers to be able to see, smell, taste, hear, and feel everything in the books. As an extension of that writing goal, I’ve worked on overdrive with my team to offer an immersive experience online. Our website includes character interviews, Spotify playlists, blueprints of locations, commercial reels, and photos. World building is a creative outlet that gives me a breather from the incredibly intense writing and editing process.

Why not, right? Why not create a more dynamic experience? Why not love what we create so much that we give it texture and breathe life into it?

Welcome to the heartbeat of the Hollywood High Chronicles.
